The final project (See module page for criteria or assignment page for upload) counts 10% of a student's grade and is due the final week of classes. (This can be a video 3 minute summary in English - or a written commentary if lacking filming capacity) Fellow students will comment on article presented and give feedback. In online course these will be uploaded to the appropriate Discussion box with article, video link(if available) and a student resume of the article as well as student commentary on article. The student will be graded on the interest of the article as well as their presentation of it. ( See current event module on Module page) The student must present a three-minute presentation in English concerning a recent news event or cultural event in some part of the French -speaking world. The current event's presentation counts 5% of the student's grade. It also requires a once a week CHAT in with instructor for 5-10 minutes to review orally chapter material. In an online course that means making comments on discussions, visiting office hours, submitting homework and classwork the weak it is due, and if possible, student group activities or pair work Q + A. ![]() A student may make up homework, as well as quizzes and dictations one week after it is assigned or given.Ĭlass participation is required and counts 10 % of the student's grade. Quizzes (see Assignment Module in Assignment tab left column)will be given approximately every week at the end of chapter and will usually incorporate one chapter that has been covered in class and in homework reading by the students or may be pop quizzes which consist of a simple vocabulary or grammar test to reinforce lexical terms from that chapter.
